The Whites began their campaign with an entertaining opening day victory at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Goals from Rodrigo and then Brenden Aaronson – which was eventually credited as an own-goal – saw Jesse Marsch’s side pick up the three points.
The Saints started in an opposite manner. After going in front early on through James Ward-Prowse, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side lost their advantage and eventually lost 4-1 against Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
Now looking to bounce back on home turf, Southampton will prove to be a tough test for Leeds in a match that will also see the players battling with intense heat on the South Coast. Drinks breaks are being introduced this weekend for the players to take on fluids, with one in each half.
The game has not been selected for live television coverage within the UK, but you can stay right here on leedsunited.com to follow updates throughout the 90 minutes, or alternatively listen to uninterrupted commentary on LUTV!
